Every carbon-based lifeform on this planet relies on the sun. The sun shows up every day, whether it's appreciated or not. The sun does not care about being appreciated.

The sun just does what the sun does; It shines brighter and hotter than any star. It shines to the benefit of the freezing, and to the dismay of the scorched.

A friend to the blooming red tree, and an enemy to the man dying in the dessert.

It will continue to rise in the east and set in the west for the rest of your days. And when it is done, well... who knows?
