Game over

From headlines in the news, to the leaves dropping from your beloved plant, to the food you eat every day, death makes his presence known at all times whether you notice it or not.

It's one of, if not the most unpleasant thing to think about ever, so we opt to ignore it. It will come when it comes, and until then, we will live our lives to the fullest.

Ironically, ignoring the existence of death can harm how one would live their life to the fullest.

If you could realise, when speaking to a loved one that they would one day die, or that you would one day die, the conversation would have a stronger sense of urgency and you would cherish the moment more closely and more deeply. You don't truly know how much time anyone has in this world, so you can access that knowledge to put aside petty things that would tarnish the pure and simple enjoyment of another's company.

And when we do lose a loved one, the pain is quite significant. It's almost like you've been shaken out of a dream or conversely been cast into a nightmare. Either way, your perspective of life changes instantly, and you notice how insignificant all the arguments you have had with the deceased person truly was, and how all that time would have been better spent with love.

When you wake up from that sweet dream, or when you fall into the deep unending abyss of loss. Do not despair. For the meaning and beauty of life lies in its transience. A game would truly get boring and meaningless if it will not end. And when the game ends, we can always start again.
