The sapling watched in awe of the surrounding forest. How did they grow so big? That one was mighty, and that one tall. This one was frail, this one was small.
When the wind would visit, howling, she would carry with her the leaves of the great oaks, and pines, and mahogany. And then, just then, the sapling could catch a glimpse of their leaves. But not for a second longer. For days, months, and years, she would just see unending barks go up and up and up.
One day, maybe, after 2 years, maybe 3 years, maybe 50, or even 500 years, maybe a thousand years. One day. The wind did not come, but she could see the leaves. The leaves of the great oaks, the leaves of the great pines, the leaves of the surrounding forest. It was amazing.
She watched in awe of the surrounding forest. How did she grow so big? A mere sapling now in communion with the skies. And after a while, one day, perhaps, after 2 years, 3 years, perhaps 50, or even 500 years, or a thousand years. One day. She missed the barks.
